Primary Function: The Director of Parish Security has primary responsibility for safety and security at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish (Church and School).
Hours: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM – Monday through Friday
Qualifications:
Required:
· High School diploma or GED
· Law Enforcement Certification (TCOLE) or Level III Security Certificate
· Minimum 5 documented years of relevant experience
· Must maintain all relevant certifications as required by the Diocese of Dallas, the City of Dallas, and the State of Texas.
Preferred:
· Stop the Bleed, First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification
· Concealed Handgun Licensed
· Minimum 10 documented years of relevant experience
Duties:
Campus and Event Security
· Implements the parish and school’s comprehensive Safety & Security Operations Plan and Crisis Management Plan, including the Standard Response Protocol, reviewing and updating as necessary
· Schedules daily security coverage with off-duty DPD officers for church and school as well as security for special events, outside regular school hours; ensures adequate pool to provide for coverage each day
· Coordinates with the Director of Technology to provide and maintain an effective security infrastructure (e.g., cameras, InformaCast, etc.)
· Coordinates and oversees safety drills
· Oversees training of church and school returning and new staff, parish ministry volunteers, and substitutes in emergency response procedures and Standard Response Protocol
· Manages campus relations with the students, staff, parents, and neighbors, including developing and maintaining relationships. Serves as a liaison between the campus and the community on safety/security matters.
· Assists in responding to all Secure, Hold, Evacuate, Lockdown, and Shelter situations on campus.
· Facilitates the development of campus emergency procedures; responds to building and campus emergencies and contacts appropriate administrators and first responders for immediate follow-up regarding incidents; and ensures proper documentation and reporting procedures are met.
· Prepares written reports consisting of qualitative and quantitative data as necessary.
· Performs special projects as requested.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Safe Environment
· Works with Safe Environment personnel to ensure adequate screening and volunteer and visitor compliance with Safe Environment policies and procedures

· Strong verbal and organizational skills
· Ability to coordinate personnel in completing projects
· Ability to exercise good judgment in decision-making
· Ability to supervise personnel through daily activities
· Ability to work under pressure in emergencies
· Ability to utilize two-way radios
· Knowledge of the role of security in an educational environment
· Knowledge of report writing as part of security operations
· Aptitude for successful completion of assigned tasks
· Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Google
· Ability to serve as a role model for all employees by exhibiting ethical behavior
