Associate Director of Young Adult Ministry
General Summary of the Position
The Associate Director of Young Adult Ministry at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church is a passionate and faith-driven leader dedicated to fostering a vibrant community of young adults. Rooted in a deep relationship with Jesus and a committed life of prayer, this individual will support young adults in their spiritual journeys, encouraging growth in holiness and active participation in the Church’s mission. This role also includes being an integral member of the parish staff team, collaborating with others to enhance the overall ministry efforts.
Key Responsibilities of the Position
● Community Building: Foster authentic relationships and a sense of belonging among
young adults, creating an environment where individuals can deepen their personal
relationship with Christ and support one another in their faith journeys.
● Leadership Development: Recruit, mentor, and support volunteer leaders within the
young adult ministry. Provide resources, training, and encouragement to help them
effectively guide their communities in faith and service.
● Spiritual Accompaniment: Engage in spiritual accompaniment with young adults,
helping them navigate their faith journeys and providing guidance as they grow in their
relationship with Christ.
● Outreach and Service: Organize meaningful service projects and mission trips that
inspire young adults to live out their faith through action and service to others.
● Event Coordination: Plan, market, and execute various young adult events, including
Thursday night gatherings, monthly worship nights, and seasonal retreats, fostering
community among participants.
● Administrative Tasks: Manage administrative duties related to the young adult ministry, including email communication, scheduling, expense reports, and overseeing social media accounts. Create marketing materials and send regular newsletters to keep the community informed.
● Strategic Communication: Utilize technology and social media to effectively engage
young adults and enhance their participation and connection within the parish
community.
● Compliance and Safety: Ensure strict adherence to diocesan and parish policies,
guidelines, and training to maintain a welcoming, safe, and secure environment.
Qualifications:
● Faith Commitment: Must be a practicing Catholic with a demonstrated commitment to
living out the teachings of the Church and nurturing a personal relationship with Jesus.
● Experience: A minimum of 2 years working within a parish, diocese, and/or Young Adult ministry in a Catholic context is required. An undergraduate degree is preferred but not required.
● Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, listening, and relational skills, with a passion for building community and nurturing spiritual growth.
● Leadership Ability: Strong leadership qualities, capable of inspiring and guiding others in their faith journeys while collaborating effectively with various ministries and groups.
● Technical Skills: Proficiency in using technology for communication and organization. A strong graphic design skillset and experience with social media management are preferred.

Background Check: This position requires a criminal background check.
English proficiency required.
Must have a reliable means of transportation, a valid Texas Driver’s License, and proof of personal automobile insurance.
