Primary function

The Assistant Director of Middle School Ministry supports the work of the Office of Faith Formation and reports to the Director of Faith Formation (DFF) at St. Rita Catholic Community. Primary responsibilities include the leadership, support, and management of parish middle school youth programs and events, including sacramental preparation for parish youth grades 7th-12th and St. Rita Catholic School (SRCS) Youth in 7th and 8th grade.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• With the guidance of the Director of Faith Formation (DFF), exercise leadership in the strategic planning, visioning, and implementation of the Middle School ministry (6th-8th) and Youth Confirmation (7th-12th) in the St. Rita Community.
• Alongside the Faith Formation team, assist in the leadership, organization, preparation, and implementation of OCIA Adapted for Youth grades 7th-12th.
• With the Director of Faith Formation and designated SRCS staff, oversee the Confirmation preparation of 7th and 8th grade St. Rita School students.
• Recruit, equip, manage, and support core volunteer team members.
• With the DFF and volunteer team, curate and develop ministry content for 3-year cycle including directly facilitating formation sessions.
• Plan and coordinate the annual Confirmation liturgy with the DFF, Pastor, and Diocese.
• Manage and support the calendar of events for Middle School Ministry, ensuring events and rooms are reserved accordingly.
• Manage forms and documentation for administrative, sacramental, and safe environment record keeping.
• Oversee and assist families in the registration process for sacramental preparation and Middle School Ministry.
• Follow Safe Environment guidelines regarding communication with volunteers, parents, and teens.
• Assist the Pastor and DFF regarding ministry events and initiatives, as needed.
• Additional tasks as requested by the Director of Faith Formation.
