                                                     General Summary of the Position

All Saints Catholic Church is looking for a creative individual who will support and assist the Communications Coordinator in the mission to deliver parish-wide communications via multiple distribution channels. The ideal Communications Assistant is self-starting, innovative, and can perform critical tasks independently and promptly. This person should enjoy working in a team environment and be excited to join a growing Catholic community with a vibrant, innovative culture. This role requires a strong understanding and practice of the vision and values of our parish.

                                         Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position 

Support the creation and editing of parish-wide publications, including bulletins, digital displays, Flocknotes, newsletters, mass announcements, Websites, and social media.
Maintain a positive portrayal of the parish on all communication channels.
Support a consistent tone and style of communication across all media and ensure all content is technically practical, grammatically correct, doctrinally accurate, and within the church’s vision and brand guidelines.
Coordinate with photography and videography volunteers to ensure enough quality photos/videos are taken at crucial parish events and in the livestreaming of Mass (e.g., Fall Festival, Easter Vigil, etc.)
Support the Coordinator by training staff and ministry leaders in effective ministry communications.
Facilitate intake of many publicity requests and the whole process of bringing them reliably to fruition.
Maintain and update the parish website in all its aspects and train other staff members to edit their portions of the website effectively and efficiently.
Maintain the database update of current parishioner information and help create profiles for new parishioners.
Oversee the identification and merging of duplicate accounts within the database and the conversion of households to individuals (and vice versa) as needed.
Collaborate with departments to build new (or modify existing) analytical, demographic, and customized reports.
Assist in training employees and focused database volunteers on All Saints database standards.

                                                       Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

Working knowledge of the Catholic Church & traditions with an understanding our All Saints Catholic Community & parishioners.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
Experience with videography, photography, and live streaming preferred
Working experience with Adobe Suite, Canva, Flocknote, and other creative and communication applications.
Intermediate MS Office experience, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Word.
Maintains a positive, upbeat, self-starting, solutions-centered, can-do attitude.
Must be able to thrive with minimal supervision.
Ability to manage time and prioritize accordingly.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with proven proficiency in copywriting.
Ability to cover special events, occasionally, which often occur on evenings and weekends.

                                                             Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communication, or a related field with comparable experience
Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.
Active member, in good standing, of the Roman Catholic Church preferred.
Must have or attain the Diocese of Dallas Safe Environment Certification before starting employment.
